Conclusion

There is no denying that the Pulse XB definitely has some amazing features with sound to match. This speaker is expertly crafted and is designed to give users the best sound experience from a speaker of its size and it does! Coming in at £60, it also offers great value and anyone who purchases one will not only be surprised by how good the sound is, they will have no problems in recommending it to friends and family.

Audio Quality

The Pulse XB is no doubt designed more with bass in mind. However, that doesn’t mean that ADX have overlooked the fact that a speaker still needs to offer crisp, clear highs and an overall pleasing sound. While ADX have packed this Pulse XB with 2x 50mm Drivers and “Pulse Bass Radiators” and the 3D DSP feature, it still offers great highs and at the highest of volumes, there was very little to no distortion noticed in my testing. The overall sound is great and that extra bass really does help set it apart from similarly priced and sized speakers, putting it into a category all of its own.

3D DSP

3D Digital Signal Processing allows for a bigger soundstage, this will simply allow it to fill bigger rooms with great sound, giving users a truly immersive experience when using the Pulse XB. The 3D DSP setting will take a bit of playing with and changing speaker placement to make the most of it, but is a truly great features.

Aesthetics

In terms of aesthetics, the Pulse XB is quite pleasing to look at. It comes in both a red and silver aluminium look, both of which feature a black grill that protects the 50mm drivers just behind. Both ends of the speaker feature bass radiators which compromise of silver aluminium and black rubber which are a nice touch, as not only do they allow for better bass, they add to the overall looks of the speaker. The Pulse XB definitely features an eye-pleasing design which is sure to be the topic of conversation when people see it. Only until they hear it, of course, then the sound will be the topic of discussion.

Connectivity and Battery Life

The Pulse XB is easily enough connected to your favourite Bluetooth enabled device. Just simply turn the speaker on and it will search for devices in range, connect to it with your preferred device and you are ready to go.

The battery life is also quite exceptional, lasting longer than I would have expected. Most Bluetooth speakers last just long enough to make it through the day on a full charge 8-10 hours or so. The Pulse XB is said to last for an average of 15hours, dependent on the volume it is used at. However, during my testing, it was lasting for around 20hours per charge, truly amazing!

Portability

The speaker is easily carried with you wherever you go, whether you want to just pick it up and go or, put it in a bag and bring with you on your next holiday. It features 3x anti-slip rubber feet on the bottom of the speaker which will allow it to be set down on most surfaces without tipping over or sliding about. The Pulse XB is also small enough that it shouldn’t be hard to find a place to put it when you are in the mood for some music, yet it is still big enough to offer an amazing sound.

Would we buy?

Would we buy? You’re damn right we would buy! This speaker really is amazing and offers a truly immersive listening experience that I have only heard from speakers much bigger than it. If you are really into music, you will know it is better to spend a bit extra the first time around. There may be cheaper alternatives out there, but the fact is that they just do not compare, the Pulse XB is truly an amazing speaker and will please any user in the market for something of the sort.

Bottom line – The Pulse XP offers great sound, aesthetics and is competitively priced making it a great all-around speaker.
