NVIDIA-Pascal

Could there be a 1080ti GTX on its way? That’s the big question and over the last few days there have been a lot of rumours going around as to what is going on over at NVIDIA!

Yesterday NVIDIA announced they would be hosting a GeForce GTX gaming celebration in downtown San Francisco later this month. Today there has also been rumours that production has already started for the 1080ti in at least one Taiwanese manufacturing facility which a possible release for the end of March 2017.

Now why would NVIDIA want to announce the 1080ti at their even on February 28th? Well AMD are also hosting their own event called the Capsaicin and Cream Event and again rumours are rife that we will all be getting a more in depth look of AMD Vega at this event.

So what will the 1080ti be? Is it going to be a souped up 1080GTX or a cut down titan? Rumours coming out are hinting towards the 1080ti using a slightly cut down GP102 GPU which is the same chip used to power the whopping GTX Titan X Pascal, which is currently NVIDIA’s most powerful graphics card.

The 1080ti is indeed looking to be as every bit as important as all the other “ti” releases we have had in the past and here at Play3r we are very much looking forward to getting hold of one to put through its paces and see what they can do when we push them to their limits.

Let us know what your thoughts are on the possible 1080ti release below.
