The MSI Z170A XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM EDITION - A New Breed of Monster 2

With Intel’s latest 6th generation processors codenamed “Skylake” due imminently, board manufacturers have been clambering over to announce their latest range of Z170 motherboards prior to the launch, but others have been keeping things close to their chests.

MSI however, have today announced their top spec, top tier and all-around bad ass motherboard in the shape of their new XPOWER; the MSI Z170A XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM EDITION. Not only is this something special in terms of colour (no more yellow and black), the titanium edition offers much more than just “aesthetical” differences. One hugely notable difference is the SILVER PCB and although it looks white, I am very much assured by MSI that this isn’t the case; it’s as silver as it can be!

Although there is no official specifications announced, the XPOWER GAMING TITANIUM EDITION will feature dual channel DDR4 support, at least 6-8 SATA 6GB/s ports and 2 x M.2 ports; M.2 SSDs have become pretty popular with brands making them widely available across the storage market. Also featured, is 4 way SLI/Crossfire support for the ultimate gamer, but also catering especially to extreme overclockers; something which is a passion for me personally.

Another new feature is the MSI OC Dashboard which can be removed and applied at will; this is aimed directly towards overclocks and like the ASUS OC Panel, will allow control for things like BLCK and multiplier.

I for one look forward to seeing this in the flesh and seeing if MSI have got the metal to cater for gaming and overclockers alike; it certainly looks like it, titanium!
