The JEDEC Solid State Technology Association have recently made an announcement that they are already working on a much faster replacement for the current DDR4 memory we are all using.

Offering the following benefits:

  • Double bandwidth of DDR4
  • Double density of DDR4
  • Improved channel efficiency compared to DDR4
  • Greater power efficiency

DDR5 should really be able to bring some good boosts to PC performance. Now although JEDEC are saying that they are nearly ready with DDR5 it will certainly be a while until this filters down to consumer products and in fact we have only just seen support for DDR4 come to light with AMDs latest Ryzen CPUs.

Let us know what you think of DDR5 RAM below.
