Nvidia have just released their latest GeForce 384 series graphics drivers. One addition that was unexpected though is the quiet addition of support for the latest DirectX 12 API with GPUs based on its “Fermi” architecture. This breakthrough was discovered by users on the Guru3D Forums.

This update offers support for the GeForce 400-series and 500-series graphics cards, and the support even  appears to be sufficient to run today’s Direct 12 games or applications. More importantly though is the completion of WDDM 2.2 compliance for GeForce “Fermi” graphics cards on Windows 10 Creators Edition. This probably played a large part in motivating Nvidia support to these now old GPUs.
