Conclusion
While I don’t think this is the big step up in the series that can set it apart from all games in the genre, I do think it’s another solid release in the franchise. Whenever I get to see 47 go out and beast through people like a knife through butter it’s always gratifying, I just wish though they could do something here to really make it an amazing game.
I feel the episodic thing was good but it has hurt it. People receiving constant e-mails about the next episode of the game, only to be told it’s an exclusive to whatever console, or the servers going down stopping you from playing the single player… I mean really, have you not been taught this lesson from witnessing Diablo 3’s problems?
If I’m to add up all the pros and cons, I would say this game is definitely worth having a play at. The fact you can buy episode 1 and just see how the game is for you is a great example of how the episodic model can work for big companies, it also makes them make a better game because if episode 1 sucks, who the hell wants to play the next 4?!
