GOG.com upgrade old to DRM-free digital versions with hidden agenda?

GOG.com giving you the unique opportunity to reclaim select titles‌ DRM-Free with all bonus goodies on GOG.com offer.  Right now, the following six (though three are Russia-only) games can be converted from physical DRM to digital DRM-free copies.

Eador: Genesis*
Mount & Blade: Warband*
Mount & Blade: With Fire and Sword*
S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl
* Russian region only

Though this is very limited and I was lucky to have one of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R games on disc and dug it out. I’m hoping this will convince other old game developers to sign up and let us have some classic games we already own back in our lives.
It wasn’t until I look at the home page that I have noticed what could be a hidden agenda, GOG.com just resealed Russian support and on their home page put “WELCOME, RUSSIAN-SPEAKING GAMERS, NEW WEBSITE LANGUAGE, NEW GAME,S NEW GAME LOCALIZATIONS, NEW WAY TO EXPAND YOUR GAMES LIBRARY”.

With half the games being only available in Russia do you think this is a push to be used in such a big country that is into competitive gaming? Let me know how feel on here and in the Facebook group, or on our Facebook page.
