When a mummy service and an daddy instant video service love each other very much, they create a Frankenstein creation called Amazon Prime Instant Video, the latest service from super-name Amazon!As you have probably guessed, Amazon has rolled both its Prime service and LoveFilm instant video streaming service into one super-service that will offer videos and films to its users.
Next Wednesday marks the day that Amazon Prime Instant Video will be rolling out and replacing the streaming side of LoveFilm in Europe, as Amazon adds over 15,000 films and TV episodes to current Amazon Prime accounts. If you’re signed up to Prime, you’ll get unlimited access to streaming video, alongside one-day deliveries on your orders, plus access to 500,000 books to borrow from the Kindle reading library.
With a price tag of £79 a year, yes you heard us right, the increase comes with a special offer for the next week to lock-in your Prime subscription for £49, so if you want to get in early, now’s the time to do it. The price works out at £6.50 a month but unfortunately, payment can only be available for a yearly payment so this could see a lot of people stuck in a yearly deal with amazon for its services regardless of if they want to carry it on or not!
LoveFilm’s not completely gone though: if you prefer receiving physical DVDs through your letterbox, you can still opt for that through LoveFilm, while if you don’t want any next-day deliveries and you just want Prime Instant Video, you can subscribe for £5.99 a month. If you’re a current LoveFilm Instant subscriber, you’ll need to change your account over to an Amazon account – but there’s easy on-screen prompts to let you do that and you can get straight into the Instant Prime streaming goodness.
