Overclockers UK 20th Birthday banner

Overclockers UK were founded 20 years ago this month, and the retailer is celebrating by throwing a 20th birthday party. This isn’t just a sale event – though that’s happening too – there’s a proper party on Saturday the 29th of February. OCUK are promising pizza, cake, drinks and music from the Red Bull Armoured Events Vehicle. Plus there’s a raffle in aid of disabled gaming charity SpecialEffect, extra hot one per customer deals in person, CS:GO Trainer time trials and more!

Most enticingly the legendary Ian “8PACK” Parry and rising star Arne Saknussemm, who you may remember from our Threadripper 3990X coverage, will be there for live LN2 extreme overclocking demos. Maybe this is the author’s bias as an extreme overclocker, but if you’ve not seen LN2 overclocking in person it really is quite a thing. There’s something deeply satisfying about liquid nitrogen fizzing away and watching the temperature drop and drop. If you enjoy pushing the limits of your system and haven’t experienced liquid nitrogen OC, this is a great chance to see it in person. There’ll be conventional systems on show too.

Overclockers UK are also keen to reassure anyone who might be worried about weather or facilities. They’re promising a heated marquee for the food and a second marquee for shelter if need be, plus toilet facilities including accessible toilets onsite.

The Overclockers UK 20th Birthday Party event runs from 9am to 4.30pm on Saturday the 29th of February, and takes place at the OCUK store in Newcastle-under-Lyme (near Stoke). Updates, directions and more information can be food on the OCUK website and forum thread.

If you can’t make it down, online deals are also promised. These are due to start appearing on the 27th of February so keep an eye on the OCUK website for those too – they even have a countdown.
