[section_title title=”Conclusion”] Conclusion

The CX475 really only has one aim and that’s to replace earphones at the budget end of the spectrum and it’s hard to argue against the CX475 achieving that aim.

Firstly the sound produced by the CX475 wasn’t bad at all even for £20. It’s clearly here that Sennheiser know how to produce a cheap pair of earphones without being too cheap in the quality department both sound wise and hardware wise. You’re certainly not left feeling that the CX475 won’t last the length of the two year warranty.

As I said on the previous page, these feel more like earphones better suited for portable gaming than anything. They’re small enough to be thrown in a pack or carry case without much thought and perform well enough to keep your Pokemon badge out of hearing.

If there is anything to be said about the CX475, even at £20, it is the price. I have no doubt these are worth the £20 asking price around the web, but for £5 more Apple will sell you some of their ‘earpods’ – which have the added bonus of in-line voice and volume control. For £5 more, the Earpods certainly seem a good value proposition although I can’t comment on the audio quality of those myself.

Taking the above in mind, if £20 is your absolute limit on a new pair of earphones then I don’t think the CX475 will disappoint. However, given how closely priced the feature rich competition is, if voice/volume control is important to you then I’d consider trying some of the alternatives first before parting with your cash.

Summary

Ideal headphones for anyone on a strict budget of ~£20. If voice and volume control are important, however, it may be worth spending a few pounds more.
