Closer Look: Exterior

The first thing I noticed when removing it from the packaging, was this crisp white, elegant beauty which effectively gave me goose bumps as I am not only a huge fan of white cases, but I have a soft spot for Nanoxia products; don’t worry, I am very unbiased!  So looking at the actual case itself instead of gawping at it, the Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 Rev.B chassis is classed as a midi-tower although it does have some characteristics of a full tower; its dimensions are 517x220x532mm (H x W x D) making it slightly larger than a regular midi tower chassis but it isn’t too intruding in my honest opinion.

The Deep Silence 1 Rev.B doesn’t come with any windows but each of the side panels come lined with sound-dampening material which adds a lot of weight to the case; this case weights just over 11kg which is pretty crazy for a midi-tower design.

The front panel features 2 x doors which hide the optical drive bays and, of course, the front intake; there is side vents, however, which allow for sufficient airflow, a design quite a lot of companies are currently using to keep airflow high but without sacrificing on aesthetics.

Unlike like a lot of mid-tower cases, the Deep Silence 1 Rev.B features the I/O and power switch on the top of the case; this allows the front to remain clean and it is a lot easier to integrate buttons/panels cleanly into cases to allow them to keep their sharp and clean lines.

In terms of front I/O, the Deep Silence 1 Rev.B has 2 x USB 2.0 ports, 2 x USB 3.0 ports and 3.5mm headphone/microphone jacks; to use both USB 3.0 ports; a good selection of ports and further enhanced by the stealth cover which keeps them out of sight when not in use.

Nanoxia have given users a choice to install either 2 x 120mm or 2 x 140mm fans in the roof of this case; you could even fit a slim radiator in or an AIO CPU cooler but Nanoxia have added a twist; there is a roof vent for those who want to optimise cooling in their case.  This is controlled by a stealthy looking slider which I personally think is ingenious.

Open, close, clean aesthetics; pretty much one of the best features of this particular chassis in my opinion.  The doors also have the same sound dampening material the side panels do and the Deep Silence 1 Rev.B comes preinstalled with 2 x 120mm green Nanoxia fans in the front; these act as intakes and pull air via the already mentioned vents at the sides.

Behind closed doors hides more than just intake fans, but the integrated fan controller which is very simple to use; this is also in addition to a stealthy reset switch and 3 x 5.25” drive bays which are covered by removable inserts.  No expense has been spared here for the refresh of Nanoxia’s very first case back in 2012; this company has constantly improved upon their impeccable standards so it’s a breath of fresh air to me as some companies I feel have gotten a little “lazy”.
