Conclusion

I think Nanoxia knew by sending me a white chassis, that it would wet my appetite a little; only joking, I personally requested it as my experience with Nanoxia products in the past has been nothing but exemplary.  Nanoxia have been releasing new revisions of their older stalwarts such as the Deep Silence 6 Rev.B which actually won our platinum award; so how does the original Nanoxia chassis do with its new Rev.B make-over?

Performance wise I was fairly surprised at how well the front air vents do actually work; this is in huge compliment to the 2 x 120mm Nanoxia green branded fans which come pre-installed with the case.  I am also a huge fan of how easy it is to remove the fans and how well the enclosure actually works; German case engineering at its finest?  I think so!  Thermal performance is pretty sweet given the closed nature of the system and although it might not have a heavily favoured case window, it makes up for in elegant simple and clean looks; a pre-installed 140mm exhaust fan sees to the removal of hot air and with space to fit up to 2 x 120/140mm fans or a radiator for water coolers in the top, I am pretty chuffed.

If I had to pick negatives about the Deep Silence 1 Rev.B, I am finding it hard to find anything major in terms of changes from the original version; not to say there is nothing different but those who currently own one have literally no need to upgrade.  This is of course you would prefer more HDD space for those using this case as a file server or for those who just whore downloads and need a ton of storage space.  Another drawback for me is the sheer weight of this case; a midi tower shouldn’t be more than 10kg in all honesty and for around £100, there is of course a lot of competition.  Are they as well built?  Probably not but when money comes into factor for a midi-tower, some considerations have to be made etc.

Touching more on the price, £100 is quite a lot for a midi-tower case but Nanoxia certainly give you something worth contemplating with the sound deadening in literally every steel panel available; this alone is probably worth buying this case for, but if noise isn’t an issue for you, there are much cheaper alternatives available currently on the market.  Maybe not with so much style but this resembles the Fractal R4/R5 a little and with around a £15-20 difference in price, it would be hard to justify the Deep Silence 1 Rev.B for anything other than sheer class/silence.

Ok the Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 Rev.B isn’t 100% silent but compared to literally other midi-tower I have seen in the past few years, it certainly beats them easily and even with a near full set-up of fans, I struggled to notice noise; the graphics card fans probably being the loudest and they are from BitFenix anyway!

If you are looking for a solid, stylish, white or black silent midi-tower case for around £100, then pick up the Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 Rev.B as at the end of the day, you have to pay for quality and Nanoxia aren’t one for scrimping on important things!

Huge thanks to Nanoxia for the sample and I really look forwarded to seeing more new products in the not too distant future.

awards-silver

  • Silver Award – The Nanoxia Deep Silence 1 Rev.B is a fairly solid silver award in all honesty and although I was leaning towards the gold, I feel the price for the function was a little high; even though this chassis screams quality by the bucket loads.  Oh, and it is very quiet too but not entirely “silent” so that has to be factored in also.  Great job Nanoxia!
