Conclusion

I have my likes and dislikes as with every case that comes through my workshop. The Aeneas is an interesting case which at first glance has a rugged yet clean appearance boasting a very interesting external design, part of me felt it was slightly overdone, but it did grow on me. In fact with the Aeneas it was all the little things that made me slowly enjoy the case, the deep vents that allow for huge amounts of air to be pulled in through the front that look awesome. However with all my likes, I did dislike a few things: starting with the blue LEDs that really decreased the overall clean look to a somewhat, tacky display of light. It might be for some people but personally I would have left it out. My second dislike stems from the window being a slight off colour and not completely clear which generally just drags down an awesome case.

Internally the case is huge and the little features like the removable motherboard make building large setups a little easier, you can even remove the top 5.25″ drive bays to accommodate larger GPU’s. There really isn’t much to say on the internal side of things, it;s a simple and well laid out case however I would have loved to see the option to fit a second set of hard drive cages. Other than that you’ve got a huge amount of space to create a slightly compact water cooled PC running enough radiators to cool almost any setup you can possibly think of with a handy space to place your reservoir at the bottom, or even two pumps.

The case also works incredibly well on the air side of things boasting six fans which seem to push a huge amount of air due to the clean design of it all, but I do worry that some parts of the board might not get the airflow they deserve like you would in a conventional horizontal PC. All in all this is such a great all-rounder case and for the price I really can’t complain, its sturdy and well built and I think it will last the test of time. The price is around £60 at the time of review which is great considering what you get

awards-silver

I’ve decided to give this case a silver award, it would be looking at a gold award but the functionality of a little more modularity to the design was missing and I feel the blue LEDs and window slightly let it down aesthetically.

Bottom line – A pretty good case and a slightly bigger alternative to cases like the Core V21, and it looks much nicer when comparing to cases like the Aerocool X-Predator.

Cons:
– Would have loved slightly better fans.
– Whilst large, still requires planning for watercooled systems.
