Taking a look inside the Core V31 and one of the things that immediately sticks out is the difference in hard drive cages compared to the V51. The v31 has one cage with 3 trays in it whereas the V51 has 2 x cages, 1 with 2 trays and 1 with 3. This is of course to add more space to the V31 and there is another difference we will take a look at shortly that will help to ensure you Thermaltake have made the right decision in this case.

Again, the Core series is designed to be modular so the 5.25″ drives and the hard drive cage can of course be removed by taking out the corresponding thumbscrews.

The hard drive trays are 3.5″ by design but they also feature mounting holes so users will be able to install 2.5″ hard drive or SSDs in them as well.

As we also saw on the Core V51, the V31 has a guide to help users no which holes/risers they will need to use to install their motherboard based on form factor.

While it is smaller than that of the V51, the inside top of the Core V31 still offers ample room for a number of fan and/or radiator combinations, giving users total control over the case as Thermaltake intended to do so.

The bottom vented area is a bit different in the V31 but it still runs from front to bad, has a dust cover and there is room to install a couple of fans here as well for a bit of extra airflow.

On the backside of the motherboard are a couple of changes from the V51 and they should go over well with most users. There are 2 x SSD trays back here to help keep them out of the way, which personally I like to show mine off but I can understand and see this is definitely a viable option given the nature of the case. Also, while there are still a number of pass-through holes for cable management they do not all feature rubber grommets which I personally would have loved to have seen.

There is not quite as much room on the backside of the motherboard tray for cable management as compared to the V51 but there is still plenty of it and the raised area on the back side panel will help give users that extra bit of room they will need to fit all their cables.
