Closer Look

Delving straight into the NZXT Grid+ V2 starting of course with the packet it arrives in, we see the front of the box has little more than the product name and an image of the rather unassuming fan controller itself.

Around the back of the pack is a little more information on its features. Something to note is that it tells you to use CAM 2.0 to control the fans, this has since been updated to CAM 3.0, such is the way with software.

Taking our first look at the Grid+ V2, and it’s not exactly exciting from the front. A name and an LED is all you get but this is meant to be more function than form – not very NZXT-like as you might normally expect a bit more pizazz.

Around the edges are where the magic happens, with three fan connectors on either side.

At the bottom edge, we have another two connectors, one for the USB cable and the other for the power jack.

The top edge is dedicated to passive cooling through the vents.

Accessories come mainly in the form of cabling that can be split into two camps, useful, like the pair of splitter fan extension cables that let you control two fans from a single connector, and essential, like the USB cable and MOLEX power cable. Not pictured are the five zip ties that help with that all-important cable management, along with the 3M mounting pad.
