Test Setup & Methodology
CPU:Â Intel Core i7-4770K at 3.9GHz and 4.5GHz
Motherboard:Â MSI Z87-G43 Gaming
RAM:Â G.SKILL TridentX 2x4GB (8GB) DDR3-2400MHz CAS10
PSU:Â Enermax MaxRevo 1350W 80PLUS Gold
OS:Â Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
First of all when testing the cooler we leave It as Idle at 3.9GHz so we can measure the temperature and decibels  the cooler produces, once we record the readings we then power down and let the setup rest for 5 minutes (to let the setup cool down).
We then boot the setup back up but this time we put the cooler through load testing and again measure the temperature and decibels, once finished we again power down but because the setup has been on load we give the setup a 10 minute breather. Last but not least we do the whole thing over again at 4.5GHz on Idle and load with the 5 minute break in between.
