Conclusion

So it’s time to sum up whether or not the MSI R7 360 OC 2GB graphics card is a worthwhile purchase or not. I think it’s safe to say that this particular graphics card isn’t going to appeal to those wanting a solid and good performing gaming card; let’s be honest, it’s seriously not one of those! Let’s focus exactly on what the R7 360 actually is and that’s a small, but subtle small form factor option with enough performance for decent gaming at medium – high settings (depending on the game) at 1080p. For 1440p and beyond, this card is a waste of time as it won’t deliver, but for 1080p in games such as CS:GO, DOTA 2, League of Legends etc., it surely packs enough punch to make it playable over 60 frames; it doesn’t do well at all though in any heavily intensive games/programs.

Even with a pretty decent overclock, it still lacks enough grunt to match the next card in AMD’s range, the R7 370. This does leave a bitter taste in my mouth as for not much more, you can get a lot better for your money. With a price of £89.99 or $112.99, for an extra £20 or $30, you can get the R7 370 which might not seem like a massive jump, but it certainly packs more punch for the money than the R7 370 does.

I guess it begs the question, is the MSI R7 360 OC 2GB a worthwhile purchase? Well if you only have £90 to spend and need something with haste, then yeah it’s not bad overall. If you can however save or stretch an extra £20-50, you can get an R7 370 or even step up to the R9 380 which offers much better value for money. I guess the answer to the question from our point of view is no, we wouldn’t buy this card, but on the plus side, if we had the need for a small form factor card with good grunt for a low-medium power LAN rig, then yes, it’s pretty sweet. Other than that, save some more money and step up, you won’t regret it.
