What kind of price can you put on something so stylish, something so svelte, something so “happy”…Well MSI believes the exact price is £1791/$1799; The GS63VR is a highly desirable gaming notebook, but let me explain why…

First of all, MSI has combined the quad-core Intel i7 6700HQ processor with NVIDIA’s GTX 1060 6GB graphics card which spells W.I.N! Not only are these fantastic components for ANY gaming focused notebook, but these components would even be good inside a desktop; components have come a long way over the last few years and notebook parts have been catching up to their bigger desktop brothers ever so slightly year on year. Taking into consideration that MSI has included a solid and sweet looking FHD 1920x1080p resolution 15.6” screen, virtually every game you throw at it will run above 60fps; they did in our tests anyway. It’s worth noting the storage performance from the 256GB NVMe M.2 SSD is out of this world, really, it is! In our video above, you can see how the GS63VR performs in the likes of 3DMark (DX11 and DX12), as well as different games across difference genres.

Next, the software included with the GS63VR 6RF notebook is quite extensive and I would go as far as saying at least 75% is useful and relevant. Everything can be accessed from one easy location…the MSI Dragon Centre. Not only can you select profiles dependent on the task you’re doing such as sport which is essentially the performance mode, or the silent mode which lowers performance for those who need a quiet operating machine, MSI has you covered. On top of this, the MSI True Colour software allows you to change your screen profile dependent on the task at hand; gaming mode won’t be suitable for video/image editing and that particular mode might not be suitable you for movies and so forth.

Lastly, we have the pricing structure. Obviously the UK pricing is a little sketchy at the time of filming/writing, but I still believe £1791 to be a pretty decent price. I believe this particular gaming notebook SHOULD be around £1700 mark, but we can’t control the economy unfortunately. Everything has had a price hike and I expect prices to keep on rising in the UK, although it shouldn’t really affect US pricing all too much and $1799 does represent better value for money when comparing both prices. That being said, you do get a lot (or little) for the money and with the slim design, good performance and heavy feature set, it’s a good purchase to anyone looking for a slim and lightweight gaming notebook.

If you’re in the market for a portable, lightweight and stylish gaming notebook, the GS63 Stealth Pro is certainly the one to get and I can’t think of any gaming notebooks as slim and light as this particular model. The i7 6700HQ will power through anything you throw at it and the GTX 1060 will play all the current games you want at 1080p now and probably well into next year without struggling.

Huge thanks to MSI for sending us the GS63VR Stealth Pro in for review.
