[section_title title=”Hands-Free”] Hands Free

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I don’t really consider phone call functionality a selling point of a Bluetooth speaker. It’s more of an afterthought generally, though I was impressed with the Jazooli Reverb recently as its noise cancellation made phone calls reasonably viable on that speaker.

The 360 is a different story however, it seemingly features no noise cancellation on the microphone. Not only this but the microphone itself would appear to be inside the speaker, where the drivers are, which is an interesting design decision.

As perplexing as it sounds on paper the reality is worse, the call quality is very poor for the recipient of your call; the output echoes into the mic and if you get your phone too close to the speaker you get an intolerable feedback noise on the call. The quality of audio on your end is fine as the speaker is nice and clear, but overall its a poor showing.

Going back to my original point, I don’t really consider this a selling point on Bluetooth speakers, more of a tickbox feature. Its sad to see such a badly implemented design on an otherwise well thought out product, something really needs to be done here.

Enough of that though, lets move on and take a look at the companion Android app…
