[section_title title=”Conclusion”]Conclusion

Computer enthusiasts around the globe do not just look at the performance of a product, they demand that it is an aesthetically pleasing product too. Patriot listened to this and delivered a sleek and all-black looking design which I feel would fit with the majority of builds themes currently on the market. Although the results are slightly different from what I was expecting when the clock speeds were increased, the increase is still there and that is exactly what I like to see but the actual overclocking potential was somewhat lacking.

One thing that did surprise me whilst I was testing was the performance. Unfortunately, even with the RAM being faster than some of the other modules which were on test in terms of MHz when overclocked, they actually performed somewhat worse which is really unexpected. This could be attributed to the slacker CAS timings needed for 2400MHz but I would have still expected to see a little better performance wise.  At stock however the performance was good and that is what I would like to shine through because overclocking is never guaranteed.

The modules are priced at roughly £74 for two 4GB modules that are rated at 2133MHz which isn’t the cheapest but certainly isn’t the most expensive. RAM prices have shot through the roof and this is actually quite affordable by today’s standards in my opinion.

If you are looking for a product that performs well and has a visually appealing heat sink, then look no further than the Patriot Viper 3 “Black Mamba” series kit.

Big thanks to Patriot for the sample!
