Let’s start the review with a look at the packaging the keyboard comes in.

strixtactic 1

The front of the box prominently features a picture of the Tactic pro as well as a heavy emphasis on the Strix branding with the ASUS name playing second fiddle down the bottom. The box tells us we have a UK layout sku with red switches, although there are other switches available I can only seem to find MX red based SKUs at retail in the UK but hopefully this will change as time goes on.

The bottom of the box features some feature talk about things like the N-Key rollover functionality, the mechanical switches and the array of macro keys.

One end of the box gives us a run down of package contents.

The rear of the box features a labelled diagram of the keyboard and talks in more detail about some of the killer features.

Opening up the box we are greeted with the keyboard which as you can see is very well protected from knocks in transport.

Inside we have a little accessory pack with a sticker and a user manual as well as some replacement key caps and a key cap puller.

I quite like the Tactic’s packaging, there was no faffing to get the keyboard out and the keyboard was well protected with the foam inserts. After the break, we’ll take a look at the keyboard itself.
