[section_title title=”Closer Look”]Closer Look

Time to move in for a closer look.

Starting off with a front view of the mouse we can see that it bears a striking resemblance to the Mionix Naos I tested very recently with the large finger rest poking out the right hand side. The similarities don’t stop there either as the Elite also features a matte black coating which contributes the most to the very stealthy aesthetic. You will also notice the scroll wheel has big clear sections on the side to let the LED lighting glow through. Above that we have our DPI up/down buttons.

Looking at the mouse from the top down we get a better sense of the profile and you can really see the resemblance to the Naos. The finger rest on the right hand side lacks the pronounced ridge the Naos has and the mouse is ever so slightly smaller overall. The back of the mouse features an Attitude One logo which lights up along with the scroll wheel and the DPI buttons.

A look at the right hand side shows that finger rest in more detail and we can also see there is a reasonable gap between the body and the mouse buttons which means we should have a nice positive click from the switches.

The left hand side of the mouse features two massive easy to find thumb buttons, the placement is pretty much bang on too.

The underside of the mouse is a fairly standard affair, around the outside we have our extra slippery Teflon feet and in the middle we have the Avago 9800 proudly on show. An interesting touch here is that we have a dedicated button to turn the lights off which is a bit odd considering you can do it in software but its not hurting anyone being down there so why not.

Finally we have the USB connector and cable, the connector itself is fairly standard but it is gold plated and the cable sports a nice quality braid.

The Elite definitely looks the part, it does feel like a slightly lower end Mionix Naos, but that’s like saying a Mercedes feels like a lower end Bentley; its hardly an insult. Let’s move on and take a look at the software that comes bundled with the mouse.
