Performance and Testing

Gaming

As I am primarily an FPS gamer, I test all peripherals in a number of situation based on these games. For the purpose of testing this keyboard, I tested it with Quake Live, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, Battlefield 4 and CS:GO.

They keyboard performed as well as one could hope during my testing. The anti-ghosting was probably most useful for me in Quake Live as due to the fast paced gameplay and bunny hopping more time than not I was hitting 5-7 keys at/around the same time and didn’t have any problems with this at all on the 200K. It says it has anti-ghosting and it damn sure does! It’s really as simple as that as no situation I came under personally did I have any problems.

When considering the scissor-switches for gaming I can certainly say they are not for me. However, after a couple days of getting used to them, they really weren’t all that bad though I did personally come across a bit of finger ache after longer sessions of gaming. The thing I noticed most was pressing them in when not wanting to, I have heavy fingers and being used to Cherry MX Black switches I am used to being able to press on the keys a bit without that actually registering, this cause a few issues when using the 200k. While this is definitely a personal fault more than the keyboard itself, it is something to be wary of if you to are used to switches that are a bit harder to press in.

Overall, when it came to gaming I could not really fault the 200K and while there was a major learning curve for the first couple of days, they keyboard held its own and any minor problems I came across are most likely down to me and my previous personal preferences in peripherals and bad habits I have formed as a result of this. Also, the fact you can lock the windows key is a major plus and gets quite a few brownie points from me.

General use

Using the keyboard for the day to day activities was actually quite nice. I spend a lot of time during the day typing on a laptop with scissor-switches so plugging the 200K in and using that instead was nice. It offered a nice feel over my laptop’s keyboard and actually helped improved my typing and made it so I did not have as many errors as normal. The media keys worked as they should and there was a nice range of them to help with everyday tasks as with most keyboards.
