[section_title title=”Software”]Software

As the Tt eSPORTS Level 10M gaming mouse comes bundled with specific software for the mouse, I thought it would be a good idea to give an overview of the different functions and features which should make this the customisable masterpiece that it has so far looked to be.

Starting with the main screen of the Level 10M software, we have pretty much the entire design of the software in full view.  It follows a red/black/metallic grey theme throughout and has many different functions.  First off the Level 10M has 2 different LED lighting modes, this being normal and battle mode.  I personally find this pointless and don’t really rate it for being a feature so I did all my testing with the normal setting.

On the main screen there is also the key assignment list, which allows you to customise the buttons to suit your needs.  However in saying that, you can’t set them to aid you in media play back in programmes such as Windows Media Player, Winamp and ITunes.  It seems to be a bit of style over substance here and I would feel the Level 10M would have benefited from this.  Clicking on Air Through and 3D Axis Movement took me to Windows Media Player and just describes the mouse as opposed to providing any function.

Here we are able to choose from the 7 different colours which the inbuilt LEDs support.  You also have the option to turn these off if you so wish.

On the macro key setting section of the software, you can create your own personal macros including being able to add delay time or completely ignore it.  This is useful for games such as League of Legends and DOTA 2 if you want to assign specific actions to said buttons.

In the performance section, you can change settings such as the cursor speed, how quickly the mouse registers double clicks and you can also change the 4 different levels of DPI setting.  The mouse’s internal memory can store up to 4 different setting so choose wisely.  Polling rate can also be changed and the Level 10M itself has a maximum polling rate of 1000Hz.

Last but not least, we have the profile management section.  Here you can create new profiles, import them or even export them so you can share them with clan members, friends and gamers alike.

Overall I felt the software was a little more style over substance and with most gaming mice, the software isn’t usually up to much.  With newer gaming mice having in-built memory, you can simply install the software, load in your desired settings and delete the software and not usually have to worry about it.  One thing I will mention is you can download the latest firmware from the Tt eSPORTS website and this fixes things such as known bugs and it is something I would recommend doing so you get the best possible experience from your mouse.
