Ergonomics

The Talon is an ambidextrous mouse and as such fits my needs perfectly. I would also go to say it would be more designed for FPS players or those who are not in need of a lot of extra buttons. One of the nice points is that if you feel it is a bit to0 wide for you to start with the side are easily removable and it feels like a completely different mouse. While I am not left handed I do like to try and grip ambidextrous mice with both hands and when in my left hand the Mouse 4 & 5 buttons on the side feel a bit uncomfortable to press. They are of course still usable but seem to fit the right hand better, at least in my opinion. One thing I found quite nice was the mouse 1 & 2 buttons are kind of curved where your fingertips go giving a bit of support from sliding instead of being pressed in the heat of battle.

Buttons

Sporting Omron switches, the Talon offers good clean feedback and the buttons most definitely have a nice clicky noise to them when being pressed. Alongside the mouse 1,2,4,5 buttons, the mouse 3 and DPI switches also offer a nice feedback and click to them. I tested them on a variety of games and even just using them for normal computer tasks was excellent, there is no need to worry if you have pressed them. The Omron switches are rated for 5 million clicks so unless you are a heavy MOBA play3r the Talon should last you for a while, even if MOBA’s are your thing it should still last you.

Tracking

The Talon sports an Avago 3050 optical sensor which offers 3000DPI, great precision with no prediction and has a decent lift off control, meaning that you do not have to lift it that far off of the mouse mat before the sensor stops registering the movement. When testing out during gaming at various DPI’s it was very smooth and fluid and even when making fast movements at lower DPI it seems to be right on point. I ran into absolutely no problems as far as tracking is concerned during any of my testing and this is quite amazing given the Talon is a budget gaming mouse. The Avago 3050 optical sensor is a good choice and as far as tracking goes, a great bargain.
