So after using the Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3.0 for a couple of days not it is time for me to give my final thoughts on the drive.

Touching on the design real quick there really is not a whole lot to say. It is a small device with a full size USB on one side and a micro USB on the other. It features a mostly aluminium design except for the plastic cover that goes over the micro USB side. It’s small compact size may not be for all but it surely gets the job done.

Taking a look at the performance and this is where things get a bit tricky. As you have seen I did run the normal benchmarks on the Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3.0. However, this USB is not designed with speeds in mind, it is designed to give users extra storage and and easy way to transfer files from their compatible Android devices. So while the benchmark results may be far from the best, the drive offers a unique ability that not may others do.

Now while I did not run benchmarks when connecting the device to my phone, I did swap a few files back and forth. It definitely takes a bit of time, but no longer than it would to swap files to an SD card. It is also more easily accessible than most micro-SD slots on mobile devices.

When it comes to the price, you really can’t go wrong. For under £8 you can get a 16GB version that will allow you to store and access files on both your PC/Laptop and mobile device at the same time. Also, for the £8 you are getting a 5 year warranty with it as well which is fantastic is you ask me. That means the Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3.0 will cost consumsers around £1.60 a year to use, and if anything goes wrong send it back and get a replacement in most cases.

All in all if you are looking for a OTG USB drive you really can’t go wrong with the Kingston DataTraveler microDuo 3.0. It is definitely a bit of a niche product but if you are in the market for one, £8 is not a bad price to get you started.

I would like to thank Kingston for sending the DataTraveler microDuo 3.0 in for review and look forward to seeing more from them in the future.
