Overclockers UK are undoubtedly one of the most popular and successful PC retailers currently on the market, but don’t let the name “Overclockers” fool you, not everything they do is balls to the walls on the OC front. What they are all about however is fantastic customer service and when you roll that into a high end system purchase, the big winner is of course the customer. Since their takeover from Caseking, they have gained even more traction and only in the last week, their website has had a new techy overhaul; it might take some getting used to for the veteran OcUK buyer, but it is certainly eye catching.

So what has Overclockers UK got for us today? Well it’s a very interesting system to say the least as it focuses around one of our favourite ITX cases of all time, the Phanteks Evolv ITX chassis. OcUK have named today’s system the “Evolution Envy Mini” and it’s a Z97 system based on the Intel Core i7 4790k overclocked to a nice 4.4GHz. This is complimented with a KFA2 GTX 970 OC graphics card and 2 x Samsung 850 EVO SSDs; 1 x 120GB and 1 x 500GB. Aesthetically speaking, Overclockers UK have included some BitFenix Alchemy LED strips in green, as well as a green LED 140mm BitFenix Spectre PWM fan as an exhaust; Green machine, green machine!

Inside the system, we have a couple of interesting, but welcomed implementations. These include MSI’s Z97I AC ITX motherboard with 8GB of 2400MHz DDR3 memory and of course an OcUK Tech Labs Asetek 240mm AIO CPU Cooler to tame the overclocked Intel Core i7 4790k processor.

Powering up the system is a Superflower Golden Green HX 550W 80 Plus Gold rated power supply which of course is a nice addition; Superflower is slowly becoming one of our favourite power supplies due to their superb construction and build quality. The sticker does look crazily unsightly though in our opinion and would have been nice to have either used a better looking unit, or a case with a full PSU cover to hide it away.

One thing Overclockers UK gets right every single time is cable management; these guys obviously put a lot of effort and care into doing the neatest and most efficient job possible in terms of cabling. The technicians have made full use of the Phantek Evolv ITX’s rear space and although you might look at it and think, “still messy”, I can assure that it’s all good in the hood.
