Introduction
Once more into the fray… Assassin’s Creed: Revelations brings us the final chapter in the story of Ezio Auditore, the most popular assassin of the franchise. Within this game you will also get to play as the legendary Altaïr too, so you get a pretty cool mish-mash of both assassin’s in one game. In Ezio’s final game he is seeking out the secret library of Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad. This game picks up pretty much from where Brotherhood’s events left off, all except Ezio really who in this title is much older than ever before, infact he’s actually a middle aged man who seems to be in his early to mid 50’s. Immediately my main interest was on how he would be handling life as an assassin in his middle years, and if he still moved as nimbly as before, to be honest. Any rustiness on Ezio’s part is all within the story, and doesn’t really show itself much throughout any gameplay that I could put my hands on.
I rather liked the storyline of this game, with the three way storyline, but two are where my interest truly lies to be honest. I will admit that this is one of the more forgettable storylines that I’ve played in the series, and I’ve had to replay the game again just before writing this to get it clear in my head again. Collectables are of course another part of this game to go through with, which to me was harder to push myself to do in this particular campaign, but I know one or two people that 100% each AC game.
With this being so many more years after the events of Ezio’s story in Brotherhood, there are of course going to be new characters. One of which being Yusuf Tazim who is the leader of the Ottoman Brotherhood of Assassins, I just found the interactions between him and Ezio were pretty nice, and it made it different for characters to see Ezio as an old man rather than the youthful character he has always been through the games.
