With this being an Xbox product the green is liberally applied to the box, although the white background may have some mistaking it for an Xbox 360 product.

Down the spine of the box we have a repeat of the specifications posted in the introduction.

The rear of the packaging is more of the same, although it’s welcome to see Venom push their social media channels as a method of communication additional to their website.

The contents of the package itself come in a plastic shell that isn’t too strong but poses no worries about storage and transportation and is certainly desirable over blister packaging. The first thing that strikes you about the device is that is in fact unlike the Xbox One controller in design. The included USB cable is also, rather oddly, mini USB meaning it doesn’t actually fit into the Xbox One controller.

The decision to go with a gloss finish on the docking station isn’t a desirable one by any means and certainly isn’t “…a polished black finish to match your Xbox One®controllers”. The gloss finish ultimately looks cheap and is a dust magnet to boot.

As you can see from the picture below, the batteries and the covers are matte like the Xbox One controllers.

The Venom logo is a slick touch to the compartments, giving them an understated but cool look.

The battery fits flush although the colour of the Venom gear is ever so slightly different from Microsoft’s controller, not that you’d notice during usage, mind.

The controller fits in the cradle perfectly, although mine is a bit lonely on its own.
