Blizzard bring gifts. Yes you did read that right.  Blizzard Entertainment is currently in the process of sending out some awesome gifts to veteran players of World of Warcraft. If you’ve had a WOW account for ten years or more then Blizzard are going to thank you for your loyalty.

On its support page Blizzard states “As a way to thank our most loyal World of Warcraft players, we are sending a physical gift to players that have stuck with us since the very beginning,”.

Over the last week or so pictures have been posted of the statue that he received on public forums. The gift has been revealed as a scaled-down replica of the giant Orc statue that rests in front of the Blizzard Entertainment campus. There is even a tiny inscription at the bottom of the statue thanking the players. The statement reads, “The Orc statue is a constant presence in our life at Blizzard Entertainment. It’s where we meet to talk, to eat, to celebrate. As we celebrate ten years of World of Warcarft, we present this token of appreciation to you, stalwart adventurer. Thank you for being a constant presence in our lives as we adventure together.”

The plans for Blizzard to do this have been circling the rumour mill since last month and I, for one, believe it to be a thoughtful gesture. To be honest I’m a bit jealous of those who do get it. In order to get the gift, players must have created an account within 60 days of the original game’s release in America or Europe and maintained their subscription for all ten years. The players in American and Oceanic regions have been sent tracking information for the gift.

World of Warcraft celebrated its tenth birthday, and the release of its latest expansion World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor. There are also rumours that the MMO may soon be bringing a free “veteran edition.” Either way it’s a good time to be a World of Warcraft player.
