Naughty Dog is changing the game and for me one of the most anticipated games of 2015 is Unchartered 4. My first gaming experience of the PlayStation 3 was in fact Unchartered: Drakes Fortune. Well Unchartered 4’s game director Bruce Straley is making a creative decision that is not just bold but could be the right decision for gaming overall.

Bruce has stated that the new Unchartered may not run at 60 FPS if it harms the player’s experience. The trailer that was shown last year was running in 30 FPS and still looked absolutely outstanding. It was a trailer that had me watering at the mouth. Straley said “We’re actually above 30, but we locked it for the demo”. Straley continued “We’re going to do whatever it takes to make the game we want to make. If it means we could go for 60 but lose something that would really impact the player’s experience, then it’s our choice as developers to say, ‘well, we’re going to go for the experience over the 60 frames.”

The game will take place three years after Unchartered 3. The game is set to take Drake to a mythical pirate colony in Madagascar. The game will also include Multiplayer which I’m actually not happy with. Multiplayer seems to be a way for developers to sell a game rather than make it better. I am really looking forward to this game and I believe it can be epic. Only time will tell.
