One thing which is generally overlooked when gaming is comfort; it’s all good having top quality headsets, gorgeous mechanical keyboards and gaming mice with more buttons than a NASA control panel, but what about your chair? Well, gaming chairs are currently big business with a couple of market leaders such as DX Racer, AK Racing, GT Omega etc. which focus more on “racing” styled offerings. Of course this being one of the most popular gaming chair types, a new company has decided to throw their hat into the arena and they go by the name Vertagear.
Only coming to prominence late this year (2015 at time of review), their style is very similar to competing brands which in all honesty, is no detriment as if it isn’t broken, why bother fixing it? Of course there are a variety of models with 3 currently being launched onto the market; the SL2000, SL4000 and the SL5000. Today we’ll be taking a look at the SL4000 in red/ black, but this model is also available in white/black, blue/black, green/black and the Carbon edition which is black/black and more black!
Specifications
Looking at the dimensions and specifications of the Vertagear SL4000, it does have a 150KG limit meaning that this chair can, of course, be used by the “larger” gamer such as myself without risk of breaking or destroying the chair; 150KG is usually the base limit for most racing themed gaming chairs these days.

With a seat base width of 510mm across from each armrest and an uninterrupted base of 370mm from groove to groove, those with quite a large derriere might need to consider looking for a slightly bigger one, but I’ll certainly be giving feedback on comfort later on in the review.
