RRP: £85 & £105 respectively (At time of review)

Cooler Master is renowned world-wide for their vast range of cases, coolers and peripherals. They’ve released a new set of All-In-One (AIO) coolers dubbed as the Nepton 140XL and the Nepton 280L. They are, as the name suggests, 140mm and 280mm respectively. Both the coolers will come with JetFlo 140 Series fans which are optimised to provide high static pressure as well as high airflow to ensure that the heat is efficiently drawn out of the radiator and into the air. Cooler Master claims that both the 140XL and the 280L can cool up to 300W of heat so I am anxious to see how well they perform. The coolers come with a 140mm or 280mm radiator, two JetFlo 140 fans and it is also coupled with a pure copper base to assist the heat transfer from the CPU into the liquid coolant. I’m expecting the 280L to perform better than the 140XL due to the increased radiator size but it may not be the case as there is only so much heat the fluid can absorb before it levels out the playing field.

AIO coolers have become something which a lot of people opt for instead of an air cooler because they are under the impression that it will be better than an equivalently priced air cooler. However, it often isn’t that way and they often trade blows or get outperformed by the air cooled counterpart. Although there are no air coolers that come in the price range of the Cooler Master Nepton 140XL and 280L, does that mean that they will outperform even the very best air coolers that I’ve tested so far? There’s only one real way to find out, and we all know what needs to be done. So let’s look at what Cooler Master have to say about the coolers and then get them prepped for testing.

What Cooler Master have to say about the Nepton 140XL & 280L:

The Nepton 140XL is Cooler Master’s latest watercooling kit that aims to bring watercooling to the next level. Nepton 140XL is using CM exclusive designed pump with effective waterblock. It has thicker and longer tubing for upgraded performance. In addition, dual JetFlo 140 fans + 38mm thick radiator also provide great cooling ability for over 300Watt heat dissipation, which enable user to overclock CPU to maximum performance.

The Nepton 280L is Cooler Master’s latest watercooling kit that aims to bring watercooling to the next level. Nepton 280L is using a CM exclusive designed pump with a highly effective water block. It has thicker and longer tubing for upgraded performance. In addition, dual JetFlo 140 fans + an extra large 280mm radiator provide substantial cooling power with over 300W heat dissipation, which enables users to overclock their CPU and maximize performance.
