Creative Sound Blaster TACTIC3D RAGE USB V2.0 Gaming Headset Review 5

[section_title title=”Introduction”]

Manufacturer: Creative
Model: Sound Blaster TACTIC3D RAGE USB V2.0
Price: £59.99 (at time of review [direct from creative, varies elsewhere])

Creative have been around for a long old time now, over thirty years, in fact. For the last quarter of a century the Creative name has become more and more synonymous with PC sound cards, with their ever popular Sound Blaster range of sound cards constantly rejuvenating to appeal to a perpetually changing market.

Nowadays they do an awful lot more than just sound cards with a large range of speakers as well as headphones and gaming headsets and the accessories to go with them. That brings us neatly on to the subject of today’s review which is the subtly named Sound Blaster TACTIC3D Rage USB V2.0 gaming headset. The headset packs 50mm drivers, RGB lighting and a built-in USB sound processor as well as PS4 compatibility, all at the attractive (and highly contested) £60 mark.

I say highly contested because right now there are some cracking headsets available in that price range that also offer PS4 compatibility such as the Kingston HyperX Cloud and the ASUS Echelon Forest. So, it’s not going to be a walk in the park for the Rage V2 but let’s crack on and see how it does in our testing!
