Asus has announced a new monitor to add to their line-up. The PA249Q ProArt monitor is a factory calibrated 24” display. Asus say it uses next-generation AH-IPS technology and has 99% Adobe Wide Gamunt RGB support for unmatched colour accuracy.
The monitor has a resolution if 1920 x 1200 with a 16:10 aspect ratio. The monitor uses AH-IPS technology which stands for Advanced High-Performance In-Plane Switching. Asus say this type of display technology allows for reduced energy consumption, superior colour accuracy and increased backlight transmission for an overall brighter image. They say that the monitor features independent six-axis colour control with colour space reproduction – 99% Adobe Wide Gamut RGB, 100% sRGB and 120% NTSC.
The PA249Q features a 80,000000:1 Asus Smart Contrast Ratio and 178-degree wide viewing angles. The brightness on the monitor is rated at 350cd/m² and supports 10-bit ‘deep colour’. There is a number of Asus features built into the monitor including Asus QuickFit Vertical Scale which overlays screen guidelines onto the image and Asus Splendid Video Intelligence technology which automatically adjusts settings to give the best visual quality for the displayed image.
The monitors inputs consist a Displayport, HDMI, DVI-D and D-Sub ports. It even allows you to display two inputs at the same tine. Allowing you to display the second image in a window in one corner of the screen or by displaying the two inputs side by side. It features a four port USB 3.0 hub and the stand supports full tilt, swivel, pivot and height adjustment.
