Microsoft launched their next-gen campaign with a million sales in 24 hours on Friday with the ‘global’ launch of the Xbox One – the biggest in Xbox history.
In those 24 hours Microsoft also let loose some details on what gamers had been getting up to as you can see below:
- Over 60 million zombies have been killed in “Dead Rising 3”
- Over 3.6 million miles driven in “Forza Motorsport 5″
- Over 7.1 million combos in “Killer Instinct”
- Over 8.5 million enemies defeated in “Ryse: Son of Rome”
The obvious point to take from this is that Sony managed to sell one million units in the US alone and their PAL launch is coming up this Friday, with that in mind, it’s hard to see how Microsoft will keep pace this side of Christmas at least. What is certain is that supply will be constrained for both Microsoft and Sony this Christmas.
Have you bought an Xbox One? Are you enjoying it and/or are you picking up a PlayStation 4 this weekend?
