Closer Look – Packaging

First thing ill point out with this Antec packaging is the colour scheme. I cannot say how nice it is to have a bright and colourful box being delivered instead of a plain brown box with illustrations on it. Really does say a lot for Antec, as this will cost them a lot more money to produce packing like this, but it does look a whole lot better.

With regards to the packaging, the front of the box gives use a small photograph of what you can expect your ISK 600 chassis to look like from the front and side perspectives. Antec have used a lovely baby blue colour scheme teamed with a yellow stripe down the right hand edge. As with most of their products they have a yellow strip which carries the slogan, ‘Designed by Antec in California.’ which harks back to the roots of the company. On the top left corner we have the ever familiar Antec logo and the bottom left the model number, in this case the ISK 600. On the top right hand corner we have something that I have begun to notice with a lot of Antec chassis now days, Quiet Computing, this seems to be something that Antec are really beginning to drive, so I will look into that later on.

On the opposite side of the box we have another photo of the ISK but this time from the opposite side. Apart from that the information is the same from the front of the box.

Moving onto the side of the box, this is where we can find a lot more information about the case itself. In total, there are six areas that Antec have decided to talk about, with the emphasis being on high performance, ease of use and quiet computing. Across the top row from the left, we have information in regards to the chassis being compatible with graphics cards up to 317.5 mm. In the middle the image shows that the case is compatible with 120 mm all in one coolers and comes standard with a silent 120 mm fan.  On the right hand side, the image illustrates that the case comes with LED’s which are carefully selected and calibrated to make sure that the case is lit to achieve optimal colour and brightness. Bottom left we have an image that shows us Antec’s ISK 600 has an advanced cooling design and is ready for water cooling set ups out of the box. In the bottom middle we have an image showing us that the case is compatible with standard length power supplies, as shown in the image, the mounting for the power supply is far from normal, more on that later. Lastly, this image shows us about the ‘stylish and sturdy’ brushed aluminium design that Antec have decided to go with for the ISK 600. All of the annotations for the pictures are written in nine languages, so it should have most people’s needs covered.

On the opposite side of the box we have another image of the front of the ISK 600 chassis, this does a great job at showing off the LED lighting effect and the general aesthetic of the case.

A brief look at the top of the box gives a very quick specification for the ISK 600, again written in 9 different languages and on the right hand side is a small annotated photograph of the ISK 600 chassis with the dimensions of the case on it. The specifications list is the same as can be found on the previous page.

Upon opening the box, we can see that the chassis itself is wrapped in a clear plastic bag and is held in place by some soft and pliable foam. I feel that this is adequate due to the lightweight of the chassis itself and that if it was to get banged around then it does a good job of holding it securely in place.
