[section_title title=”Installation”]Installation
Installation is easy as one could hope for. First thing I always like to do is get the backplate ready. To do so you stick the proper screws through their corresponding holes base on the socket you will be using it with, then you take the black caps and put those on to help keep the screws in place.
Next it is time to add the retention brackets to the base of  the pump. This is an easy process but make sure to pay attention to which way the retention brackets are facing as one side has a bit of an indent for the screw to sort of fall in place.
The next thing you will most likely want to do is install the radiator into the case itself. first you can go ahead and install the fan onto the radiator then install the radiator to your desired location in your case.
Now here is where the fun begins and something that may put some users off from the Maelstrom 120k. It is now time to put the backplate through the motherboard. There is no way of securing the backplate to the motherboard so you will need 3 hands, or quite a bit of will power to accomplish the job by yourself.
Once you have put the backplate through the back of the motherboard you will now need to put the pump/block onto the mounts. It may take a couple of tries here but it is possible to get the pump/block onto the mounts without pushing the backplate off of the motherboard, though it is not very easy. Once you have accomplished this, or called for a little bit of help and have the pump/block onto the mounts you can use the 4 x included thumb screws and fasten it all down. At this point you should have a sigh of relief and it is now time to enjoy your new cooler.
