Today ASRock unveiled their Z170M-PIO2. The Z170M-PIO2 is a new micro-ATX offering from ASRock, and it offers something that we’ve not really seen on consumer products before, the PCIe slot is angled. This allows for parallel installation of the graphics card thus eliminating the need for PCIe riser cables in small form factor systems.
The board is the uDTX form factor, but it is compatible with micro-ATX as well as PIO form factors found in some slim compact SFF cases, as well as VESA mounted computer + display setups.
The board is based on the overclocking capable Z170 chipset, with 2 DDR4 DIMM slots supporting up to 32GB of memory in dual channel. Also included is a 32Gb/s M.2 slot, four SATA 6Gb/s connections, four USB3.0 ports (2 front, 2 back) and mPCIe for wireless expansion.
