Google has just updated it’s platform versions page, interestingly enough it has now been shown that the most popular version of the OS is now Jelly Bean.
After its long reign on top of the list it seems like Gingerbread may finally be getting the grave it deserves. It’s exciting to see that people have been shifting to the new version of the OS rather than sticking around on an older version. It also gives hope that Android may even be solving it’s user segregation issue as right now there is a large number of users on a vastly different operating system. In some cases users have painfully subpar hardware to continue to updating the OS such as with devices like the Samsung Galaxy S which stopped receiving official updates from Samsung after Gingerbread.
Overall it is only a good thing that the latest iteration of the OS is now the most popular and I hope that trend continues in the future.
