40Mb/s bit rate in file sizes up to 1.5GB!
Gamersyde are best known as the gaming media website that boasted the HQ and direct-feed files of announcement trailers and images where quality was no compromise as is often the case with YouTube and publisher supplied content. Other high-quality hosting sites such as Vimeo don’t allow gaming content on their servers, so it’s great to have an option that does allow HQ game footage for both entertainment and informative purposes.
Blimblim announced the news himself on NeoGAF:
Well I have good news for you. Video hosting on Gamersyde is coming in 2 to 3 days. I’ve been working on the feature for the past 2 months now, and I’m at the point where it’s just fine tuning of the various pages. Bitrate can be up to 40 mbits, file size up to 1.5 GB, and the stream itself is exactly the same as the one we use on the site currently.
Given the rumoured swallowing of Twitch by Google, and YouTube’s over-zealous content flagging, perhaps Gamersyde’s 1080p60 promise is something you should look into for archiving purposes of your content. The video hosting is experimental at the minute, both in functionality and where Gamersyde will take it next, but head on over to the website now and get uploading.
Let us know what you think of Gamersyde’s offer and is it an option you think ‘YouTubers’ and gamers will take up?
