Audio and Graphics
Graphics wise Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight is done with pixel art, it looks quite good and the animations are great. It’s always pretty obvious what your character is doing. Each area has its own style that’s distinct and keeps the games backgrounds and environments from getting to repetitive or dull.

I love the game’s music and think that it’s very well done. It matches tones, and sets the mood, with wherever you are in the game excellently. Each area has its own music, unfortunately though this doesn’t extend to the bosses. Most of the bosses have the same music with the exception of a few (notably the final boss). The music is not done in a retro style, and is probably done mainly with computer software (I can hear it in the drum beat), but it is really great. The soundtrack is available for sale on steam as well as a DLC for the game.
Still thinking about the game’s audio, since some enemies can attack you from off screen you need to listen for audio cues so that you can dodge incoming attacks. It’s nice that most enemies’ attacks have a distinctive sound to help you decipher what to dodge (visual cues help with this as well). It’s quite simple overall, but it doesn’t really need to be complicated.
