It was said previously that Blizzard were taking a zero tolerance stance over cheaters in their new IP, Overwatch. It seems that not only have they stuck to it, it appears in only China alone they have banned 1572 players, along with that they were named and shamed on their way out too.
It seems the people who provide hacks for games are especially bothered because of how difficult they’re finding it to fool the game. The craziest thing is that cheaters are getting banned even if they go and get themselves a new copy without cheating apparently with one particular player saying.:
“Got banned one day after the official release,”
“Thought I got detected for using RPM tools, because the game was crashing for it at that time.
“Bought the game again… didn’t hack on it at all, just wanted to enjoy the game a bit. Two days later—banned again.
“Bought the game… again. But before doing that, I deleted Overwatch and launcher completely. Enjoyed it again without cheating only for a day.”
On his fourth attempt, he purged the PC, changing everything from HDD ID’s, MAC address, BiosDate and even buying a new VPN to try throw off Blizzard, even that didn’t work…
Blizzard said “Our support staff will not overturn these closures and may not respond to appeals.”
I gotta say, I’m super proud of Blizzard with this, not only have they taken this stance where they won’t tolerate it in any way. They also figured out a way to stop people simply going and getting another copy of the game, go Blizzard!
