After the big success since its release in June 2013, the action packed horror game ‘Last Of Us’ is taking the next step by striking a deal with Ghost House Pictures to put it on the big screen, but will it be another game-movie flop?.
We have seen so many game-movies that have disappointed us in the past so why will this be any different. Turns out that Naughty Dog will have alot more say in the film, co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra, game director Bruce Straley and creative director Neil Druckmann will be involved in all aspects which will be key for them to make this a massive blockbuster.
What made this partnership happen is the great emphasis on the language used and how the narrative distinguishes the game. Wells commented to Deadline that he saw Screen Gems and Ghost House as ‘a perfect fit’ for the project and that many other studios have previously approached them about making a film out of the game.
Can it stand up to competition?, with the likes of Assassin’s Creed  and Minecraft the movie also trying to put there name in lights i do hope Naughty Dog don’t hold back on the details because the game in my own opinion is a must have.
Earlier this week, Uncharted writer and creative director Amy Hennig left Naughty Dog after 10 years at the company. People thought he was forced out of the company by Druckmann and Straley but the two have released a statement denying that this is what occurred.
