AMDs Raptr app also know as AMD Gaming Evolved app is the ultimate app for the PC Gamer. It has a wide variety of features from helping to optimize your games to rewarding you for playing your favourite games. It has a built in twitch streaming function and you can take screen shots and instantly upload them to Raptr, Facebook and Twitter without even leaving your game. It now comes bundled with the AMD Catalyst 14.2 drivers but is still currently in beta.
The interface is easy to get the hang of and is separated into two parts. You have the dock which is a small tool bar that you can put on different sides of your screen via the gravity, pinning and display options. It also allows you to choose the size of the icon’s, has an auto-hide feature and can also allow to always keep on top. The dock allows easy access to the control centre, settings, streaming, friends and accounts and also has a more widgets button that once opened offers you access to a wide variety of things from Facebook to checking the local weather.
The command centre is the second part of the user interface you will see. The command centre is where you will spend most of your time. The first tab is the home tab. This is where you will see a list of all (or most) of the games you have installed on your PC and their individual optimization settings. When you first install it should scan your PC to find all of your games from Steam, Origin, Uplay and just about any other service you have installed games from. You will also notice a store tab where if logged in you can view items that you can purchase with your reward points you have earned simply by playing your favourite games. You will also notice the community tab where you can join the community for your favourite games and start chatting with others about them. Of course you also have a profile tab where you can customize your info and avatar, view your stats, game collections and messages among other things. There is also a tab for free-to-play games. At the moment there are over 50+ to choose, ranging from League of Legends, Warframe, World of Tanks, The Elder Scrolls Online and many more great titles.
Raptr’s store is probably the favourite feature and is where gamers can go to spend their hard earned points on games, hardware, coupons and more. For the launch AMD lined up a number of great offers! You can use your points to enter sweepstakes to win game codes, products from Astro Gaming, Sapphire Toxic 270x, Gunnars and more!
This app offers a number of great features and if nothing else is an easy way to keep track of all your games and friends without having to open up multiple other programs. All games can be launched from the Raptr command centre and will open up any other clients necessary to play the game of your choosing. This app will not only make your life easier but offers some nice rewards especially if running an AMD GPU in your system.
If you are using an AMD GPU and have not checked out Raptr well now is the time. I mean who doesn’t like the chance to win free stuff just by playing games? Getting rewarded for playing games sounds like a win-win situation if you ask me. Head on over to the AMD Raptr page and check it out now http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/raptr.aspx
