HIS is most likely a brand which many will associate with great coolers and excellent build quality. Established in 1987 and with a mission to produce the highest quality PC products you can find in the industry, HIS continue to deliver on their promises. Backing up this claim is their quite frankly amazing number of awards which they’ve picked up over the years. The number currently stands at over 1480 awards world-wide which is impressive, no matter what way you look at it. They’re not only considered a top graphics card producer for the AMD GPUs, but also a world-leader in terms of their coolers on the cards; namely the IceQ, IceQ X, IceQ X2 and Turbo range of coolers.
Today, I am going to be taking a look at the HIS HD 7950 IceQ X2 which has a dual axial fan design. Naturally, being a HD7950, it comes equipped with 3GB of VRAM. It also comes with a range of features which you would expect from a top-line graphics card manufacturer. The cooler design is not only cooler than the reference design, it’s a lot quieter too. There are five heatpipes to draw the heat away from the GPU and into the fins effectively. Furthermore, it also features some other goodiess which I will go into in the closer look section of this review.
So, with a brief introduction to HIS, the card and their long-term standings in the GPU world complete; let’s quickly move on and take a look at the specifications before opening the box and examining this card for ourselves.
