The MSI R7 260x graphics card comes in MSI’s regular blue themed box with an industrial “Afterburner” logo across the top which is of course the MSI overclocking utility for pushing your graphical solutions to their limits. It has a very robust looking design and fits in very well with the packaging.
On the rear there is a more detailed list of features and specifications such as Direct X 11.2 support, 2GB of GDDR5 fed by the 128bit bus as well as supporting HDMI and PCI-E Gen 3 motherboards. The theme is relatively nice and would look good in a retail environment.
Upon opening the box I was greeted with the MSI R7 260x card itself surrounded by protective foam. The card itself is inside a sealed anti-static bag to avoid ESD (electronic static discharge) which cannot just damage electrical products but render them useless.
Bundled with the MSI R7 260x is the following items:
– Quick start guide
– Driver installation disc
– D-SUB – DVI adapter
– 2 x 4 pin Molex – 6 pin PCI power cable
All in all, everything needed to get the card running is included, especially since D-SUB is not supported with the 260x. Even though a driver installation disc is supplied, I would recommend downloading the latest AMD drivers direct from the AMD website to ensure the best possible experience and not only that, the best possible performance.
