Closer Look
I opened the travel case half expecting to be greeted by thousands of profile selectors, knobs and switches, but the Braun Series 9 9040s Premium Shaver Wet & Dry has just three. An on/off button and sliding lock for the swivelling head on the front and a slider to activate the trimmer on the back. The shaver is heavier than I expected, about the same weight as a large mobile phone, but comfortable to hold with glossy black plastic, tactile rubber back to help with grip in the shower and very nice accents of blue and mirror-like plastic it looks and feels like a top quality product although I think I would have preferred metal for the price.
The head of the shaver houses two foil elements along with the HyperLift & Cut trimmer (blue) and the Direct & Cut trimmer (silver).
Above the Braun branding is the blue LED indicator, totally hidden under black plastic when not displayed.
The back of the shaver is mostly clad in rubber to give extra grip when wet and is also where you find the precision trimmer which slides up from the main body.
