[section_title title=”Introduction”]Introduction

ASRock Inc. was founded in 2002 and while they are most well known as a manufacturer of motherboards they also manufacture Industrial PCs and Home Theatre Personal Computers (HTPC).  Their split from ASUS in 2002 led them with the original goal to compete with other companies in the OEM market at the time.  A few years later, following a successful IPO on the Taiwan Stock Exchange, ASRock is in the process of moving the company upstream and making a name for itself in the DIY market.

Today I am taking a look at the ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer motherboard, ASRock have cooperated with Jonathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel for this and also for the creation of the previous offerings in the Fatal1ty series of motherboards. For those who do not know, Jonathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel was one of the first people to become a world-wide renowned professional gamer and is still a house-hold name to this day in the community.

The ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer offers a plethora of features; some of which include: Hi-Density power connectors, M.2 and SATA Express connectors, Crossfire and SLI support, Purity Sound2, Killer E220 Networking and ASRock Super Alloy XXL Aluminum heatsinks to name a few.

To get things kicked off let’s take a look the unboxing video I did, followed by a detailed look at the specifications of the ASrock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer.
