Taking a look at the front of the box we can see the Extreme “X” smack dab in the middle. On the top we of course have the ASRock logo and an image to let us know this is a Super Alloy Motherboard. Moving on down to the bottom we have our model number “Z97 Extreme6” as well as some images of features ASRock wanted to highlight and make sure we see first when looking at the box, including the Ultra M.2 slot, Purity Sound 2, and HDD Saver to name a few. We can also see this board is compatible with AMD CrossfireX, NVIDIA SLI, HDMI and Windows 8.1.

Moving onto the back of the box and we of course have an overload of information, albeit in a good way. Here we will find a bit more information on some of those features ASRock highlighted on the front and some they didn’t.

One of my favourite features which you will see me mention every time is the foam padding ASRock encase the motherboard in to help prevent damage. The foam actually goes all the way around the motherboard, not just the bottom and to ensure it won’t budge ASRock zip-tie it to the motherboard. This is just one of those little features that make you feel a company has gone above and beyond the call of duty to ensure you have the best possible experience and to ensure your item is not damaged. To this day I do not know of ANY other companies that do this, step it up guys!

  1. Thank you for all the excellent reviews. Just one thing: It would be excellent if you could use the correct abbreviation for gigabits per second, i.e. Gbps, as opposed to GBs. GB is the abbreviation for gigabyte, and I’m pretty sure even Ultra M.2 can’t do 32 gigabytes per second! 😉

    Cheers
